Nice piece. As I was reading, I'm thinking: who's behind this? I think you're right: we have to listen to less and less of music. But the paradox is that the less you listen, the more you know you should listen since you have taught yourself how to listen to music. I guess it's like reading: you have to read less to take more in, but then you have to read more....
